Rain - Written by Riley

Once upon a time there was the god of the storm. He grew angry! A ten day thunderstorm was about to begin. It started beating down. It started to flood.

Rain- Written by Amity

The rain is pouring hard and the water is flowing. The stormy rain was scary when I woke up. The paddocks are flooding when the rain pours down. The thunder goes boom! boom! The storm is scary.

The Flooding Day - Written by Brayden

At home the water floods onto the grass and the worms come out. It rained on the bus. The grass gets wet and the road gets wet. There is mud!

The STRONG Wind - Written by Liam

The wind and the rain is making the rivers overflow. The rain is bucketing down. I like how it makes patterns on the roof.

Rain- Written by Keziah

The rain in the night screams past. I sit inside watching it. I put a bucket outside and left it there. The rain was falling down one by one. The wild wind stretched past with the rain. The Outram town was flooded. Thunder and lightning booms past. The gutter floods. Cars slip from the roads.

There was  a  big rain at Outram .  The  thunder went boom and there was hail and I
jumped  in  the puddles. My drain  was blocked.  There were humungous  puddles .

The Pouring Rain - By Eligh

The  rain   was   pouring at my  house.  My  paddock  is  flooding  with  rain.   My   Dad   moved   the cows  to higher ground.  I heard a BOOM.  I jumped  when I  was  having  a  milo.

A Principal's Award for Charlie

A story based on Hansel and Gretal called Sam and Anna.
Once upon a time there was a nice mum and two kids called Sam and Anna. They were nice kids. They played in the forest. An ugly woman came and took the kids away. The woman was very mean. The woman was bad but she was just beginning to be nice really. She wanted to eat the kids. The witch wanted to eat Sam but Anna saved him from the stable. The witch wanted Anna to climb in the oven but she didn't know how to, so the witch said "Even I can get in the oven" and Anna pushed the witch into the oven. The witch died in the flames and the witch was never seen again. The kids couldn't find there way home and their mum was worried. They found a duck and it offered them a ride. They found there was a path and it was the way home. Their mum was very pleased that the kids were saved and they came home.

Witch Shark and the Clever Crab - by Henry

Once upon a time in the scary ocean there was a witch shark and it tried to eat a clever crab. The clever crab bit the shark on the nose and swam away. The clever crab laughed because it got away safely. And the shark went home hungry.

Group Massage

Today the 'Santas' reading group read a book called 'At the end of the day'. We decided to try out a class massage by sitting in a group circle. It was lots of fun!!

My Pirate Adventure

Story written at home by Liam

One day I sailed upon the sea. The sparkly sun was rising above my shiny ship. I whipped my treasure map from my pocket. I looked at it. I accidentally ripped it. I crashed into a rock. I had to call for help. Still nobody came. So I dived into the rough sea to winch my boat off the rock. I used the hook on my hand to pull the boat. I found a treasure chest underwater. It had money in it. It had olden day money in it. There were lots of coins and notes and one dollars and two dollars. I took it to the museum. They put it on display.

Nearly Caught - Story by Ruby-May

It was a cold and drizzly day. I went to my Nana's house. It was fun. I asked Nana for some chocolate chips. Nana said "I don't think so". But when she was out in the garden I snuck some. Then Dad came to Nana's place. It was time to leave. So I stuffed most of them in my mouth!!

Wok and Wal come to Outram!

On Friday we had a visit from a puppeteer. David put on a great show and we learnt how he made his own puppets. He has been all over the world putting on his presentations. He even owns the animation company that made the new Cadburys advertisement with the dancing cows. He showed us how to make an elephant mask with just a piece of paper and scissors.
We had a go at making our own elephant masks. It was quite tricky but we persevered and look what we created!!

Ladybird Drawings

Miss Casandra and Miss Ummi from Malaysia taught us about observational drawings. We read a story about ladybugs and then had to draw one looking carefully at a chosen picture of a ladybug using our art pencil. We then used pastel and dye to finish them off.

Venn Diagrams

Today we were learning about Venn diagrams. A Venn diagram helps us to compare two things.
First of all we compared ourselves - what is the same and what is different about us. Then we compared two animals. Here are some photos of us working in pairs and comparing the animals. Tomorrow on our trip to a town school we will be looking at what is the same and what is different between our school and their school.
